About Sakura-No-Baba JOSAIEN.

Higo Kumamoto thrived as the cornerstone of Kyushu region, having 540,000 koku of rice under the Kato and Hosokawa families for 300 years in the Edo Period, and "Higo Bunka" was developed.
Kumamoto castle is the symbol of Kumamoto prefecture, regarded as one of the three great castles in Japan.
Now, through 400 years after the construction, "Sakura-No-Baba SAIJOEN" will be open hoping that it could be bustling and many tourists be attracted by historical culture like Kumamoto castle and go down to the castle town.

Tourism Exchange Center

General Tourist Information Center


This is a tourist information center providing various tourist information of the city, the prefecture and others. Also, intending a tie-up with tourist volunteers, we have been improving the center so as to be the base of them.

Multipurpose Exchange Center

This is an exchange place for residents, tourists and anyone could feel more familiar to Kumamoto castle. Local traditional arts, the activities of city development and others would be performed.

Sakura-no-Koji

23 distinctive shops of Kumamoto prefecture get together! We have unique food and items available only here. The 7 restaurants and 16 shops create "quality food culture and manufacturing culture". Also, fantastic lighting will be colored as a night spot in Kumamoto city.
